Diamond Drag Engraving
While it can be used on glass, trophies, awards, and other memorabilia, we primarily use this method of engraving on hard metals such as stainless steel. This type of engraving will produce a crisp, but very fine line.
Depending on the hardness of the material the stroke can be widen and deepened by engraving the design multiple times over.
Using a tool called a ‘diamond graver’, which consists of a steel shank with a conical pointed diamond imbedded in the end, which
has been shaped and polished to a mirror finish. Diamond drag engraving is a process where the non-rotating diamond graver moves across the surface of the material without the use of a spindle motor, which allows for the high quality engraving on hard metals such as stainless steel, anodized aluminum, and hard steel.
